About Us
The Roudenbush Community Center (TRCCI) is an independent nonprofit dedicated to enriching individuals, families, and communities through diverse programs. Serving the residents of Westford, we offer educational, recreational, and cultural activities for all ages—from early childhood education to senior programs. Our offerings include art, fitness, gymnastics, after-school care, and summer adventures. It’s important to note that we are not a department within the Town of Westford. We operate as a fully independent nonprofit center, relying on program fees, facility rentals, and community support to sustain our offerings. We collaborate with local businesses and organizations to provide a wide range of services, and our facilities are available for community events and group rentals. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, ensuring community involvement in all we do. Additionally, all Westford residents are eligible for a 10% discount on all community education programs and at the childcare center—simply enter code WESTFORD in the coupon section at checkout. At Roudenbush, there’s always something new to explore and enjoy! ❤️
Brief History
The Roudenbush building, constructed in 1897, originally served as Westford Academy until 1928, when the town purchased it for public schooling. In 1957, it was renamed the William C. Roudenbush School, honoring a long-serving principal. After Westford Academy moved in 1973, the building became a community center, with the Roudenbush Community Center Committee (RCCC) forming in 1975 to manage it. In 1976, the Roudenbush Community Center Associates (RCCA) was incorporated to handle program funding. Over the years, Roudenbush expanded to multiple buildings and became financially independent in 2004, fully separating from town management in 2009. Serving the town of Westford for almost 50 years, it has provided daycare, community events, free space for various activities, and continuing education opportunities. The building underwent renovations in 2017, securing a lease through 2025.
